Duties and responsibilities
The Head of the Digital Transformation Unit is responsible for leading and driving the digital transformation strategy within BNF Bank. This role oversees core banking system enhancements, ensures seamless alignment with the Digital Channels Unit, and collaborates with various stakeholders, primarily the Bank’s retail and corporate function, to enhance digital product offerings. The Digital Transformation Unit is also responsible to oversee the continuous process improvement function across the Bank. The position requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and deep expertise in banking, especially retail function.
Responsibilities
Digital Transformation Strategy:
- Develop and implement the organization’s digital transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Identify and drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and digital capabilities.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
Core Banking System Enhancements:
- Oversee the modernization and optimization of the core banking system to support retail, corporate and digital growth, while enhancing customer experience and engagement.
- Collaborate with IT, vendors, and business units to ensure timely and seamless core banking system, and ancillary systems, upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements in core system enhancements.
Alignment with Digital Channels Unit:
- Work closely with the Digital Channels Unit to ensure integration and synergy between core banking and digital channels.
- Facilitate a seamless omnichannel banking experience for customers
- Enhance digital onboarding and transaction capabilities by leveraging technology and process improvements.
Product Innovation and Development:
- Collaborate with Product and Business teams to define digital product strategies.
- Support the Products team to drive the adoption of digital products and services that enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
Testing:
- Design business test cases for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Develop UAT test plans that reflect real-life usage of the system ensuring that product meets business requirements and user expectations.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, regulators, and technology partners, to advance digital initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation and digital-first mindset across the Bank.
- Provide training and support to employees to help them adapt to new digital systems and processes.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Establish KPIs to measure the impact and success of digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on progress, challenges and opportunities.
- Maintain updated documentation and use tools like Jira and Confluence.
Competencies and experience
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
- 10+ years of experience in banking, or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of core banking systems, and digital channels.
- Proven track record of being an active participant on large-scale digital transformation project.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Competencies
- Retail banking front line and customer handling experience.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in banking.
