Duties and responsibilities
The Accounts Officer will be responsible for:
- assisting in the day-to-day accounting processes and reconciliations;
- assisting in the maintenance of the general ledger and the administration of non-banking analysis codes for effective reporting purposes;
- assisting in the application of accounting policies and procedures;
- assisting in the upkeeping of various registers forming part of the ERP chain of activities;
- assisting in the execution of internal controls;
- assisting with the posting and payment of invoices;
- assisting with the reconciliation of supplier statements;
- compiling ad-hoc reports as requested.
Skills
The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.
The Accounts Officer must:
- ideally be familiar with banking accounting and fundamentals;
- possess excellent MS office application skills mainly in the use of excel;
- ideally have previous experience in a similar role which will be considered an asset;
- be able to work both independently and within a team;
- have good analytical skills; and
- demonstrate excellent organisational skills.
Experience and Knowledge
- Previous experience in banking is considered an asset; and
- possess a Degree or Diploma in Accounts, Economics, Financial Services, Business Management or Banking and Finance.
