Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • ensuring accurate and timely execution of work related to credit operations;
  • checking of daily updating of systems / reports in regards to credit agreements issued to customers;
  • checking of daily incoming bank guarantees that need to be issued / amended / extended or cancelled;
  • handling / checking of daily standing order report to make sure that no insurance policy lapses;
  • handling / checking the pledging of Life and Building policies as well as shares and bonds;
  • analysing and challenging bank architect reports and updating information on the Bank’s database system;
  • checking the perfection of securities and conditions both prior and post contract, and updating the Bank’s database systems;
  • checking of incoming House Authority report requests;
  • checking letters issued on a daily basis to customers;
  • replying to relevant service ticketing system (Jira tickets) to make sure that SLA’s are met in a timely manner;
  • relasing of any collaterals that need to be released for fully repaid facilities; 
  • processing / checking daily loan drawdowns, factoring, invoice discouting and Bills of Exchange received; 
  • completing end of month Central Bank of Malta reporting & other regulatory reporting as required;
  • checking of any relevant fees that may be due on a daily basis;
  • checking of initial collateral data such as insurance policy and bank guarantee forms data on the Bank’s collateral systems;
  • signing of 'A' signature on bank drafts and any other bank supported documents;
  • effectively supporting the manager responsible for the unit in the daily tasks and providing general support as may be required;
  • implementing and monitoring best practices that are issued from time to time;
  • maintaining a good and healthy working relationship with all internal and external parties; and
  • challenging existing policies and procedures and suggest changes and / or improvements based on first-hand experience.

Skills

The potential candidate should be a reliable and trustworthy team player with an aptitude for learning, able to work in a dynamic environment, meticulous and organised in your work.

You must:

  • have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; 
  • have 3 - 4 years of banking accounting and fundamentals experience;
  • have experience in coordinating activities;
  • have good working knowledge of local credit legislation; and
  • have proven track record of working in the operation / management of credit such as the handling of securities, perfection of conditions of sanction and management of loan draw downs.

Knowledge & Experience

You must:

  • have past experience in a credit operations area of a Financial Institution; and
  • have a certificate or diploma at MQF Level 5 in Economics, Banking and/or Business Management.
