Duties and responsibilities
The Junior Compliance Analyst will be required to support the RCD department and the Compliance Officer in ensuring that the roles and duties of the Department are achieved effectively and according to the deadlines set by the legislation or regulator.
The individual in this role shall support in providing knowledge related to Banking legislation, Payments legislation, ICT and Cybersecurity legislation, any other related guidelines and Local & European relevant legislations. Additionally, they will be responsible to keep abreast with new legislations impacting the Bank’s operations.
The Junior Compliance Analyst will need to support the RCD Team and Compliance Officer in:
- promoting the ongoing development of the compliance culture within the Bank;
- liaising and maintaining excellent working relationships with stakeholders of all levels, providing guidance, assistance, and advice on regulatory matters;
- identifying, documenting and assessing the compliance risks associated with the Bank's operations;
- monitoring regulatory horizons to ensure that the Bank is always proactive towards upcoming regulatory changes;
- carrying out preliminary impact and gap analysis’ and assist in the implementation of legislation that will impact the Bank;
- monitoring the regulatory calendar to ensure that the reporting deadlines of the Bank are adhered to and submissions are made in a timely manner;
- adhering to set deadlines and objectives as stipulated by the various legislations and regulatory requirements;
- supporting with the implementation of the Annual Compliance Plan, ensuring compliance across the different departments of the Bank with the requirements of legislations and internal policies through an oversight programme that includes testing, monitoring and reporting compliance and performance to all effective legislations;
- assisting with the compilation of the department’s regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements for management information purposes as well as reporting to the Executive Committee, and Risk & Compliance Committee;
- monitoring of any open findings emanating from internal reviews as well as any regulatory findings;
- supporting RCD and the Compliance Officer with Arbiter complaints as well as effect oversight and monitoring of the Bank’s complaints process, ensuring timely and complete mitigations, where reasonable;
- when required, supporting the Data Protection Officer for the Bank including investigating potential breaches and handling of Data Subject Requests; and
- assisting with any other duties that may be required to achieve and exceed the functions objectives as defined from time to time.

The Junior Compliance Analyst will need to have:
