Duties and Responsibilities
The Head of IT Operations will be responsible for overseeing the management of the Bank’s IT operations and infrastructure. This includes managing the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank's IT infrastructure, as well as ensuring that IT operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex IT operations in a banking or financial services environment, as well as a deep understanding of the technology and infrastructure required to support these operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of IT in the implementation of the Bank’s IT Strategy;
- Define and implement the Bank’s Infrastructure roadmap;
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the Bank’s IT Operations;
- Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and data centres;
- Develop and manage the Bank's disaster recovery and support business continuity plans;
- Manage the Bank's budget for IT operations and infrastructure, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency;
- Manage the Bank’s Service Delivery function through an effective and efficient provision of first line of support to Business users;
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to IT operations and infrastructure;
- Collaborate with other departments, including InfoSec, Risk, Compliance, and Business Units, to ensure the effective functioning of the Bank as a whole;
- Lead a team of IT operations and infrastructure professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success; and
- Participate and contributes to the Bank’s IT Governance structure.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations and infrastructure management in the banking or financial services industry;
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team of professionals;
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IT policies and procedures that improve efficiency and effectiveness;
- Strong understanding of technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and data centers/cloud;
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address IT issues in a timely manner;
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to achieve common goals;
- Experience with project management and implementation of new systems and infrastructure;
- Knowledge of banking operations, including the regulatory environment and compliance requirements would be a plus;
- Technical proficiency on Microsoft 365 Platform is desirable;
- Demonstrated experience as an Agile Practitioner, working with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean are highly desirable;
- Experience in agile project management tools such as JIRA; and
- Experience in design, deploy and manage Azure infrastructure with relevant certification are highly desirable.
