‍Duties and Responsibilities

As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for defining, maintaining, and evolving the organisation’s overall technology architecture to ensure strategic alignment between business goals and IT capabilities. This role establishes enterprise wide architectural standards, drives technology governance, evaluates emerging technologies, and ensures that systems and platforms evolve cohesively within a controlled and scalable framework.

You will collaborate across the organisation — including business leaders, technical teams, project managers, and external partners — to create a unified architectural vision that supports current and future business needs. The Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in the organisation’s digital transformation initiatives by ensuring architectural integrity, alignment, and long term sustainability.

The person in this function will be responsible to:

  • Develop and maintain the organisation’s enterprise architecture framework, including business, data, application, and technology architectures;
  • Align IT architecture with business strategy, long‑term objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
  • Define and evolve the target architecture, identifying transition states, integration approaches, and modernisation pathways;
  • Establish, document, and enforce architecture standards, policies, and principles;
  • Lead architecture governance forums and perform architectural reviews to ensure compliance with enterprise guidelines;
  • Assess architectural risks and ensure proper impact analyses are performed for proposed changes;
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and frameworks that support enterprise wide capabilities and innovation;
  • Provide architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle across multiple domains; 
  • Identify duplication, inefficient systems, and technology debt, and drive remediation strategies;
  • Oversee major transformation programmes, ensuring architectural consistency across initiatives;
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies (cloud, integration patterns, security standards, data platforms, AI/automation, DevOps, etc.);
  • Provide architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle across multiple domains; and
  • Identify duplication, inefficient systems, and technology debt, and drive remediation strategies.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge

The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.

The person in this function must have:

  • a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or in a related field (or equivalent experience);
  • relevant certifications, such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, are highly desirable;
  • proven experience as a Lead Architect or a similar role, including experience in developing and implementing systems architecture;
  • strong knowledge of systems architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices;
  • proficiency in assessing and improving existing software systems;
  • experience in overseeing development teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to the organisation;
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, API management, and enterprise grade security practices;
  • Expertise in cloud architectures, microservices, data platforms, integration technologies, and DevOps practices; and
  • Experience in the banking or fintech industry is highly desirable due to regulatory, security, and technology stack alignment.
