Duties & Responsibilities
The Unit Manager for Banking Operations will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific unit within the banking operations department. This role involves managing a team of professionals, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The Unit Manager will also be responsible for process improvement, performance management, and ensuring that the unit meets its targets and service level agreements (SLAs).
You will be responsible to:
• Representing the Unit in any meetings were BOU are required to attend;
• Updating & reviewing policies and procedures
• Leadership and Team Management
• Operational Oversight
• Process Improvement
• Risk Management and Compliance
• Customer Service
• Reporting and Analysis
• Budgeting and Resource Management
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of banking operations professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
• Liaise with other Departments/Units
Skills
The potential candidate should be a reliable and trustworthy team player with an aptitude for learning, able to work in a dynamic environment, meticulous and organised in your work.
You must have:
• Maintaining a good and healthy working relationship with all internal and external parties;
• Have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Have 10 years of Banking accounting and fundamentals experience
• Have Experience in coordinating teams
• Have good working knowledge of local (Maltese) legislation in respect of payments; and
• have proven track record of working in the operation / management of Payments, guarnishees, deceased customers and customers due diligence activities.
Knowledge and Experience
• Past experience in a payment and operational legal related activities area of a Financial Institution
• have a certificate or diploma at MQF Level 5 in Economics, Banking and/or Business Management
• Past experience with cards businees back office support
• Past experience on supporting digital channels operations
