Duties & Responsibilities
The Corporate Real Estate Relationship Manager is responsible for originating, structuring, executing and managing commercial real estate lending relationships across the United Kingdom and selected international markets.
The role will focus on developing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with sponsors and intermediaries, and delivering profitable growth within the Bank's approved risk appetite.
The Relationship Manager will act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the lifecycle of the relationship, from origination through to ongoing portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Origination
Transaction Structuring
• Structure lending solutions appropriate to client requirements.
• Prepare credit applications and supporting documentation.
• Conduct financial analysis and transaction assessments.
• Present opportunities to internal credit committees.
• Coordinate legal, valuation and due diligence processes.
Relationship Management
• Manage a portfolio of corporate real estate clients.
• Act as primary client contact.
• Identify opportunities for relationship deepening.
• Monitor client performance and covenant compliance.
• Ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Portfolio Management
• Monitor portfolio performance and credit quality.
• Identify emerging risks and early warning indicators.
• Ensure timely annual reviews and facility renewals.
• Maintain accurate client and portfolio information.
• Support remediation activities where required.
Credit and Risk Management
• Maintain strong underwriting standards.
• Ensure transactions comply with policy and risk appetite.
• Assess borrower strength, security quality and repayment capacity.
• Escalate concerns appropriately.
• Support portfolio stress testing and monitoring exercises.
Market Development
• Maintain detailed knowledge of UK real estate markets.
• Identify emerging market trends and opportunities.
• Contribute to development of lending products and sector strategies.
• Enhance the Bank's profile within the real estate finance sector.
Experience
• Minimum 8–12 years experience in commercial real estate finance.
• Proven track record originating and executing real estate transactions.
• Experience with transactions ranging from £5m–£50m+.
• Experience within a regulated banking environment.
• Strong understanding of UK commercial real estate markets.
